Nobodaddy

Tríd an bpoll gan bun

In Nobodaddy, saothar úr leis an chóragrafaí Michael Keegan-Dolan agus Teaċ Daṁsa, tugtar le chéile comhoibrithe aitheanta agus comhoibrithe úra i nGaeltacht Iarthar Chiarraí.

Nobodaddy, a new work by choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan and Teaċ Daṁsa, brings together familiar and new collaborators in Ireland’s West Kerry Gaeltacht.

           Then old Nobodaddy aloft
Farted & belchd & coughd
And said I love hanging & drawing & quartering
Every bit as well as war & slaughtering

— William Blake (1793)

Is deasghnáth corraitheach damhsa agus amharclannaíochta ar scála mór é Nobodaddy do chompántas de naonúr damhsóirí agus seisear ceoltóirí lena n-áirítear an t-amhránaí agus ceoltóir tíre aitheanta, Sam Amidon. Cé gur Nobodaddy an t-ainm atá ar dhia scriosach atá le feiceáil i roinnt mhaith de dhánta leabhar nótaí William Blakes, is óid é Nobodaddy Teaċ Daṁsa do lucht déanta síochána agus dóibh siúd a thugann leo nithe maithe chugainn.

Noboddaddy is an affecting large-scale dance and theatre ritual for a company of nine dancers and six musician including the renowned folk singer and musician, Sam Amidon. While Nobodaddy is the name of a destructive divinity who appears in several of William Blake’s notebook poems, Teaċ Daṁsa’s Nobodaddy is an ode to the peacemakers and the bringers of good things.
